Huge thanks to the contributors, this FFV Clean project is the work of many people! Most notably: Inu, Modoh, RoSoDude, Cubear, Tzepish, Gens. Some contributions from ChickenKnife, LeetSketcher, tsushiy, C_CliFF, Conn, & clymax bring additional variety, alignment and depth. My focus is on sprites and data, and curating the talented work by many other hackers. Editing tools written by everything8215, noisecross, birdulon, and Snow Bro have proven essential in crafting these FFV Clean Editions.

v1.98: DressCode2
- All Job outfits show up on the map. Special costumes occur during one cutscene. All clothing colours are precisely sync’d to the battle sprites for maximal immersion. This work was done by Cubear, and is branded the DressCode project, v2 (link to earlier source).
- “Steal Buff” made into an optional patch. The only distinction between Hella Clean and Very Clean now is the broader selection of weapons for all Jobs except Monk and Mime, who are well balanced and didn’t merit additions. Maybe someday Claw weapons will get added to Clean, but this might be too divergent from the original game…
- The “FF5 Doubler” optional patch is included. Original work by C_CliFF, with some adjustments by clymax.
v1.97: Berseker, Dancer, Chemist Deluxe
-
Berserker actions in battle improved by RoSoDude; also affects battle speed penalties for Berserked, Confused, and Zombie'd characters. Key changes, as explained by the author:
- “This patch aligns berserk ATB with normal ATB, such that the Berserker can gain first turn initiative in battle if they are built to overcome their Agility penalty, and they do not suddenly attack when revived or unpetrified. Berserk characters are properly hindered by slow, as are zombified or confused characters. Berserk characters reveal their turn progression in the ATB gauge display, while characters under the zombie and confuse status still have their true ATB hidden.”
-
Improvement to Dancer's Sword Dance, it triggers more often if the
- ManEater
- Rainbow Clothes
- Ribbon
- Red Shoes
are equipped: all four of these stack to fully max out the odds of Sword Dance in battle
-
Improvement to Chemist's Remedy !Mix, it now removes Petrify
-
Re-equipping items in battle is better
