In May 2026 Google silently installed its own AI model Gemma onto hundreds of millions (likely billions) of devices worldwide, funneling it through Chrome without any user permission dialogs! Here’s how to disable it on Windows11, then block it from happening again.

Disable it in Chrome

1. Go to this URL in Chrome

Search for and Disable these 3 settings:

• AI Mode Omnibox entrypoint
• AI Entrypoint Disabled on User Input
• Omnibox Allow AI Mode Matches

1. Go to this URL in Chrome
   1. (enable Developer Mode if you need to)

Uninstall their 4 GB foundation model.

Block it from Re-Appearing

1. Open regedit by searching for it in the Start Menu; you need to make some new Keys.

Under the LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies create

• Google
  • Chrome

Use the right-click menu to make New > Key for these.
